Foodbuzz Tastemakers: BUITONI Frozen Meals for 2
Dear Food Diary:
As part of Foodbuzz Tastemakers Program, I received a pack of Buitoni’s Shrimp and Lobster Ravioli with Garlic Butter Sauce.
One meal for two in 5 minutes fits into anyone’s busy schedule. Pasta and sauce in one pack. This seemed easy enough, but I enlisted the help and tummy of Piano Boy anyways.
On the box it’s suggested to cook pasta and warm the sauce in one pot, but we decided it was best to have them separate. Didn’t want pasta and plastic cooking together ya’ know.
My initial thought after opening the package was “are these meal for “two” made for model appetites?”, but these babies turned out quite big and filling. We were both satisfied.
The wrap is surprisingly al dente, it has a shrimp, lobster and ricotta filling and a light buttery garlic sauce. I did add a pinch of salt and some red pepper flakes for flavor, the sauce needed a little help, it tasted like Alfredo sauce to me.
Was there real maine lobster you ask? Yes, I found some chunks. I liked the pasta, but wished the sauce had more flavor, something more creative. Perhaps a truffle sauce? Or something with a little kick? Overall it was a nice quick meal.
