COWABUNGA: Gourmet Rice Krispy Treat and Red Velvet Ice Cream delivered to your door
Dear Food Diary:
It’s a sweet day in the life of a food blogger when you’re asked to sample ice cream. The folks at Cowabunga, the online “designer” ice cream did just that. Sweeeeet indeed! Hand crafted, hand made and hand packed. Creative flavors all delivered to your door. I picked 2 that were out of the ordinary.
RICE KRISPY TREAT
The base is their Hampton’s Lux Vanilla. Real smooth and creamy. The vanilla flavor is pleasantly laced with swirls of marshmallow and pieces of rice krispy. I wished there were more of that gooey marshmallow in between each spoonful. Having more rice krispy wouldn’t hurt either. But overall I really enjoyed it. Just the vanilla ice cream alone won me over, definitely for those guilty pleasure moments, under the nap blanket watching a chic flick.
RED VELVET CAKE
Red Velvet cupcakes are my all time favorite, so you can imagine my excitement when I saw this, but then I realized this was yogurt based, therefore icier than my tastebuds anticipated. The flavor was there, but texture wise, a bit to grainy, which I guess sort of resembled that of cake, but I can’t say I enjoyed it. Plus it was a little too sweet for me. I’ll go with their creamy options next time, the Off 5th Ave Chocolate is calling ma’ name.

You know, i think i would rather stick to the red velvet cupcakes.. which i love!! Their icecreams do sound good though.
