The I can’t believe Andrew Zimmern knows CCG! & Googa Mooga weekend

Andrew Zimmern @ Taste UWS 1

Dear Food Diary:
This past weekend was a food filled one. I bought tickets to Taste of the Upper West Side event on Friday only because my ALL TIME FOOD HERO Andrew Zimmern was gonna be there. Adam Richman from Man vs Food the host.

UPCOMING 6/10: Portugal Day at Aldea

I have a bridal shower so can’t do it, but if you can, I’d say go, even if they only have a seat for one! Great price and I’m pretty certain food will be awesome!

I went to Aldea when it first opened and have been back after they received their Michelin Star and they’ve gotten better. Chef Mendes is hot and talented (will post about that soon).

TACOMBI: love the decor, the tacos not so much

tacombi-1

Dear Food Diary:
Let me start by saying that I’m a big fan of Aaron Sanchez, and I was really hoping Tacombi could be my go to spot for tacos. With such a whimsical VW Combi (hence the clever name!) in the middle of the casual/warehouse setting, it’s hard not to fall in love at first sight. Unfortunately  I can’t go on gushing about the food or price.

FREE Guinness Tasting

Experimental Cocktail Club NY: tasty drinks that are on the light side

Experimental cocktail club 2

Dear Food Diary:
Wednesday night J, C and I had our much needed girls night out at the new Paris transplant Experimental Cocktail Club in Chinatown. I was excited to read about them expanding to London and now New York. Who doesn’t need a good cocktail after a long day!?

Living in NYC, we are no strangers to these ridiculous reservation policies, so as mandated by the establishment, I emailed madameandmonsieur@experimentalcocktailclubny.com for a table. Prompt and friendly response for our table. They noted that even without a reservation, the bar is open to walk-ins.
