Dear Food Diary:
Who can resist korean fried chicken. Extra crispy, with sweet soy garlic flavors that have been soaked up like a sponge. How? I don’t know, all I know is that I love these crunchy little bites. I’ve been a fan/addict for years. If by any chance, you’ve never had them, you must go and get some!

Feliz 25 de Mayo para todos los Argentinos!

Dear Food Diary:
Today is a special day in which Argentineans celebrate the Day of the May Revolution (Argentina’s Independence from Spain in 1810).
To commemorate this year, I wanted to give little taste of my Argentina, the one I grew up in…

[ARGENTINA] PERITO MORENO GLACIER: Trekking. Whisky. Alfajor. Boat ride.

Dear Food Diary:
We had a fun time and filled our tummies at Estancia 25 de Mayo the day before. Now what we so anxiously been waiting was finally happening. At the crack of dawn, we left from El Calafate to the Perito Moreno Glacier. Where we did trekking, drank some whisky with glacier ice, had chocolate alfajores and enjoyed our every minute with this spectacular natural wonder.

[EL CALAFATE, ARGENTINA] Estancia 25 de Mayo: Cattle. Sheep. Steak. Lamb.

CALAFATE - Estancia 25 de Mayo 1

Dear Food Diary:
We landed in El Calafate from Buenos Aires on a sunny afternoon. Our goal was to see the Perito Moreno Glaciers, but due to time conflicts, our travel agent arranged for us to spend the rest of our day, plus dinner and a show at Estancia 25 de Mayo, the glaciers had to wait ’til dawn. When I read the itinerary, I wasn’t thrilled, it sounded all too “touristy”. And though in a way it was, the minute we arrived to the Estancia (Ranch) I was all smiles. The sky was glorious and the smell of fresh grass was enchanting. So gorgeous, fekt like I was in a dairy ad. As a city girl I’ve never had a late afternoon quite like this…

Dear Food Diary:
For the love of pork belly, my friend C invited us over to her new bachelorette pad for an korean style BBQ night.

This is really the easiest “recipe” ever! All you need is a good indoor BBQ grill, kimchi and pork belly! All these are easy to find in Korean supermarkets (we went to H Mart which also has online shopping).
