After spending some time in Singapore, I came home craving a lot of the dishes I had sampled.

One of them being this Five Spice Pork Roll or Ngoh Hiang – we tried different versions around Singapore, but StalkerBoy Mama’s recipe takes home the gold.

In honor of Malaysian week, I’m giving one of my all time favorite Malaysian places a shout out, after all, this is where my love of Malaysian flavors started. 10 years ago, when I first moved to NY, they were still at their original Grand St. location (across the street from current). Dear Food Diary:
I’ve only had Filipino food a handful of times, so when my one and only Filipino friend (pictured above, overly ecstatic while browsing the menu, actually he was just shy about speaking his native tongue, first time we heard him) organized a feast at Engeline’s, we took out our metrocard and rushed over to Woodside, on a Monday night.
