KUNG FU Little Steamed Buns Ramen: Shanghainese Comfort

KUNG FU Little Steamed Buns Ramen - shrimp and loofah steamed pork bun - soup

Dear Food Diary:
Let me start by saying what’s on everyone’s mind: “I hate their name!”. The Kung Fu part is fine but Little Steamed Buns Ramen is just confusing and unnecessary. That said, their xiao long bao aka soup dumplings or buns are really darn good.

The gem is their shrimp, loofah and pork soup dumplings, a replica of one of my favorite fillings at the king of xiao long baos – Ding Tai Fung. Another favorite is their Shanghainese style wonton soup, which reminds me of my ChubbyMama.

SEOUL CHICKEN: Asian and Southern style fried chicken

Dear Food Diary:

If double fried, korean style chicken wings bathing in Asian flavors tickle your appetite, this is the place for you.

Don’t be fooled by the name. Seoul Chicken is a mixture of Asian influences with Chef Chaz Brown’s Southern background.

Dear Food Diary:
I’m sure every bride and groom would remember their special day as “magical” – StalkerBoy and I are no exception.

Our wedding in Bali was an unforgettable celebration with our closest friends and family under a beautiful setting.

ISOLA Mondrian Soho: Beautiful lunch on our special day

Isola - entrance - Mondrian Soho
The only photos StalkerBoy (now StalkerHubby) will let me post of him. Our cousin Y art directed the shot.

Dear Food Diary:
March 28th was our 3rd anniversary and the day we decided to make it legal. We’ve been planning our wedding ever since the proposal. And though the real celebration won’t be until June, StalkerBoy and I decided to do City Hall first.

Afterwards, he picked this beautiful lunch spot – Isola Mondrian Soho to toast the start of our special day. One of the prettiest outdoor dining rooms I’ve seen, even on a rainy day, it looked gorgeous. The entrance was perfect for the capturing special day.

The food was good too.

[ RECIPE ] Provenzal Chimichurri Sauce

provenzal chimichurri sauce recipe 3

Dear Food Diary:
Growing up in Argentina, salsa Provenzal and Chimichurri were quintessential to any good asado or parrilla aka BBQ grilled meats. The garlicky herb mixture, paired well almost everything. Honestly, I slathered it on anything from chicken to fries.

Because I could never chose between the two, I started making my hybrid recipe of Provenzal Chimichurri Sauce. Provenzal or chimichurri purists need not email complaints. Food is personal and we should be able to have fun and make it the way we like it.
