You can’t help but lit up when you arrive at the Brooklyn Farmacy & Soda Fountain in Carroll Gardens. The corner space was an actual “pharmacy” back in the 20s! Everyone is a kid once you step into those door. Old Americana mixed with warm friendly people. Good o’ld fashioned sundaes and egg creams. A reminder of the good o’ld times, simple and sweet…

I loved our waitress’ look, like she stepped out of a film set or time machine. Sitting at he bar is a treat, you get to see them assemble these massive desserts. No skimping on ingredients. No calorie counting here. My kind of place.

From the floor pattern to every little sweet they sold, this place is as adorable as it gets.

Peanut Butter Cup Sundae is a peanut butter lovers ultimate sin. The cup starts off with a layer of their homemade thick and creamy peanut butter, the type that sticks to the roof of your mouth and you need your tongue to lick off. Then, there’s the generous scoops of coffee ice cream, hot fudge. Topped with whipped cream and shaved chocolate. Spoonfuls of rich, creamy flavors and textures. We all shared, I don’t think I could finish this on my own.

Pecan Crumble Sundae was my favorite. Think the best pecan pie, only in ice cream form. The Farmacy makes their own pecan crumbles, buttery pieces that resemble the best part of a pie, the crust. Perfectly toasted pecans all around the chocolate and vanilla scoops, topped with a thick caramel sauce an fresh whipped cream of course. Love, Love, Love.

Warm Brownie Sundae is a classic. Warm brownie on the bottom, ice cream and of course topping it off with a cherry. Their ice cream is creamy and luscious. Smooth, it leaves a nice balm around your lips from the no nonsense heavy cream.

This is the perfect place to get away and enjoy the day. No schedule, diet or iPhone, time stops and it’s just me and a date with a good o’ld fashioned sundae. Bring your sweetie, from young to old and bring a smile to their face.
