DOUGH’SSANT at Chikalicious: cronut inspired yumminess
Dear Food Diary:
“Copy” versions of Dominique Ansel’s sweet hybrid cronut (you might of heard about it? LOL) have been popping up from NY to Tokyo.
I was surprised that even Chikalicious, one of my favorite dessert spots in the city, have jumped on the cronut wagon. I’ve yet to try the real deal, but one dreamy dough’ssant bite later, I finally understood the craze.
If the cronut is anything like this dough’ssant, I’d bet my sweet tooth all this ain’t just a hype and we’ll be eating a lot more of it.
Ramen Burger at Smorgasburg

Even though I was absent all summer, NY’s new food obsessions traveled all the way across the globe. From the cronut to ramen burger, I couldn’t wait to get back and try them all.
I spent a good chunk of last Saturday at Smorgasburg‘s Ramen Burger line… and I GOT THE LAST ONE! Only a limited amount is served each Sat.
[TOKYO] Hiking Mt. Nabewari: from udon to ramen
Dear Food Diary:
You might have noticed by now that my idea of an Saturday morning adventure is trying a new dish or cuisine. StalkerBoy however loves the outdoors and being active. He also knows how to lure me into going hiking with him.
You see, at the top of Mt. Nabewari sits a famous udon shop, run by an old man who for decades have carried water and all the ingredients daily on his back, all the way to the peak. With that, I was hooked and even “excited” about going hiking…

[UPCOMING] Sept. 17: Cronut Hole Concrete for charity
Starting at 10am next Tuesday, Shake Shack Madison Square Park will be serving these Cronut (the real deal) Hole Concrete for charity. Only 1000 will be sold.
“Butter Caramel frozen custard blended with three delectable Cinnamon Sugar Cronut Holes, and a bonus Cronut Hole on top.”
I haven’t waited in the crazy line for cronuts, but this seems like a double “sweeeeeet” deal. I’m sure the lines will be crazy, so see ya there?
