UMAMI BURGER: Ohhh yes! Truffle Burger

umami burger - truffle burger

Dear Food Diary:
Some bites are able to leave a lasting and tasty memory. Umami Burger did just that with their Truffle Burger at the last Googa Mooga. Since then, I’ve become a follower, addict, fan  – whatever you want to call it.

Ohhh yes! that Truffle Burger.

{ BEST EATS } New Orleans

bloody mary to go - drinking on the streets of new orleans

Dear Food Diary:
My trip to Nola was filled with good eats. I gained another pound just by looking at the photos again.

In an attempt to make my Best Eats list of New Orleans, I designed a compact, at-a-glance eating sheet based on the best individual dishes I had. Take a look!

Fatta Cuckoo: Fried chicken with a sweet touch

fatta cuckoo

Dear Food Diary:
I’ve never met anyone who didn’t absolutely love fried chicken. Yes, there are a few health nuts who takes the skin off and swear by the evidence of flavor even so (whatever *rolling eyes*). Anyways…

When Gilt City had a deal for Fatta Cuckoo’s fried chicken dinner for 4 ($80), I rung up my ChubbyChicas immediately. But shortly after, I was off to Japan and missed my finger lickin’ date.

My friend J reported “best fried chicken I’ve ever had”.

MAISON KAYSER nyc: From Paris with love

Dear Food Diary:
Eric Kayser brought an edible postcard of Paris to the Upper East Side. Maison Kayser is a warm, neighborhood bread shop, bakery and cafe, much like the ones you’d encounter in the city of love. I’ve willingly overspent my carb limits there with many many happy memories.

This man, like many of his fellow French men, use one of the most basic of ingredients – flour, and turn it into love. The result are the best almond chocolate croissant I’ve had in the Big Apple, amazing tarts and bread that make you forget all other food groups.

American Table Cafe and Bar by Marcus Samuelsson

American Table Cafe and Bar by Marcus Samuelsson 1

Dear Food Diary:
I was excited to check out celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson‘s new UWS casual spot American Table Cafe and Bar the day after their opening night. Situated right inside the grand Alice Tully Hall. It’s spacious and well lit. Perfect location for before or after a show. The soups started our meals off on a good note, unfortunately, it was downhill after that. High prices without the dishes to back it up.
