NOREETUH - corned beef tongue musubi

Dear Diary:
Noreetuh which means “playground” in Korean, is the new casual Hawaiian inspired spot in the East Village. The chef grew up in Hawaii and lived in Japan. The menu is a mixture of Hawaiian with an Asian twist.

The Cannibal - Gotham West Market - pig head cuban

Dear Food Diary:
I’ve never been a big fan of Cuban sandwiches until this past Saturday. I took at bite at The Cannibal’s Pigs Head Cuban Sandwich and wow, a flavor explosion. Hands down, the best Cuban Sandwich I’ve ever had.

The Cannibal at Gotham West Market surprised us with a brunch that went beyond eggs and toast. I want to make this my usual, regardless of what my doctor might say.

Piora: More Monkey Bread Please!

Piora - bar

Dear Food Diary:
One of the best things about blogging is meeting other food lovers. When tabelog had it’s NY Judge meet ‘n greet a couple weeks ago, I met Yvonne and Terry from FilledwithSweets. We immediately made plans to a foodie dinner.

Piora was on top of all our lists and we were able to snatch a reservation for 3 on a weeknight.

Oh my… that monkey bread was the most memorable thing we had that night.
